Deputy Prime Minister Kachka affirms Ukraine’s unwavering commitment to European integration amid debated anti-corruption reforms
Ukraine continues its determined march towards European integration, emphasizing its firm stance on maintaining the course.
Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, during an informal discussion with European Commission representative Gert Jan Koopman, emphasized that the reforms necessary for Ukraine’s accession to the EU remain a top priority for the government.
Despite ongoing debates surrounding the independence of anti-corruption bodies such as NABU and SAP, Kyiv remains committed to its reform agenda.
Kachka highlighted that the government is taking the fight against corruption very seriously, actively collecting opinions and analyzing positions from a broad range of stakeholders to ensure transparency and effectiveness in the process.
He assured that all steps toward reform and alignment with European standards will be swift and deliberate.
An open dialogue with the EU and other international institutions remains a key element of Ukraine’s strategy, with a focus on building trust and ensuring prompt, transparent engagement with experts and negotiating groups responsible for justice and anti-corruption issues.
Ukraine reaffirms its commitment to the Roadmap on Rule of Law and is resolute in its desire to advance according to established plans.
Kachka emphasized that his personal goal is to preserve and strengthen trust between Ukraine and the EU, as these relations are fundamental to the country’s long-term development and stability.
Despite current disagreements over the independence of anti-corruption agencies, the Ukrainian government remains dedicated to fulfilling its international obligations and aligning with European values, which are crucial for Ukraine’s future accession prospects.
In light of critical remarks from the Netherlands and Sweden concerning reforms in the anti-corruption sector, Ukraine strives to balance internal reforms and international support to further its Euro-integration efforts.
