SBU Statements Regarding Lawfulness of Access to Information on NABU and SAPO Special Operations
At the core of Ukraine's security and anti-corruption efforts, official statements have been issued concerning the ongoing review initiated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) at the end of July.
According to representatives of the agency, their employees have not gained access to classified information about specific operations carried out by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).
The official position asserts that the investigation is conducted strictly within the bounds of applicable law, particularly Article 37 of Ukraine's Law 'On State Secrets.' The SBU's press service emphasized that their staff did not familiarize themselves with materials containing details of covert investigative actions and operational measures conducted by NABU and SAPO.
Any claims about potential disclosures of such information are considered unfounded and manipulative.
Furthermore, it is highlighted that in certain cases, investigative actions may be performed without a court warrant if obtaining such documents could risk leaking information or jeopardizing crucial operations within anti-corruption investigations.
The agency assures that the entire review process complies with legal procedures and prioritizes the confidentiality of state secrets, which are protected by specific legal norms and protocols.
