G7 diplomats express serious concern over NABU investigation and plan to meet with Ukrainian government
Diplomats from the Group of Seven (G7) countries recently voiced their deep concerns regarding the ongoing investigations into Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU).
They expressed particular alarm over alleged violations during recent investigative activities, including the exposure of a suspect believed to be working for Russian intelligence services.
The diplomatic representatives announced their intention to hold further consultations with Ukrainian government officials to clarify their stance and discuss the implications of these developments.
In their statement, they emphasized: "We are highly concerned about the Security Service of Ukraine's response to this investigation and urge respect for the independence of law enforcement agencies.
Our diplomatic mission has already engaged with NABU leadership to discuss potential legal and political consequences.
Our countries continue to support Ukraine's efforts toward transparency, effective anti-corruption measures, and adherence to the rule of law." The diplomats underlined that maintaining institutional independence and good governance are crucial objectives in Ukraine's path forward, and they plan to continue monitoring the situation while remaining open for dialogue with Ukrainian authorities to find common solutions.
