How Ukrainians Can Save on Electricity in October: New Tariffs and Support Programs
Ukrainian consumers have a unique opportunity to reduce their electricity expenses during autumn and winter thanks to the implementation of new savings mechanisms and support programs.
In October, the government introduced several important measures aimed at economic relief for end-users, including updated tariffs, state compensations for residents of front-line regions, and improved metering systems.
First and foremost, reduced tariffs for households using electric heating have become good news for those for whom heating costs are a major expense.
If electric heating is officially designated as the primary heat source, the state provides a discount of 2.64 UAH per kWh for consumption up to 2000 kWh per month.
This offer is valid from October to April and significantly decreases expenses during the heating season.
Additionally, Ukrainians can install multi-zone meters, which allow the tariff to drop in night hours to 2.16 UAH/kWh, and for three-zone models — down to 1.73 UAH.
This is especially beneficial for those who actively use electrical appliances at night, such as water heaters, washing machines, or charging stations.
It is also noteworthy that emergency power outages have been introduced in Kyiv and 12 other regions to stabilize the energy system.
Residents of front-line regions receive a separate compensation, covering up to 300 kWh of electricity per month, equivalent to 432 UAH per person.
The maximum support amount for one household is 1296 UAH, and all payments are made automatically via the Pension Fund without additional applications.
These measures not only help lower financial burdens on Ukrainians but also promote more efficient use of energy resources nationwide.
