New Opportunities for Internally Displaced Persons’ Employment: The State Expands Compensation Programs for Employers in Frontline Regions
Significant changes in Ukraine’s support policies for internally displaced persons (IDPs) are opening up new employment prospects, especially for those forced to leave their homes due to ongoing military conflict.
The government has decided to enhance financial incentives for employers hiring IDPs in frontline zones and heavily affected regions such as Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions.According to the new regulations, the duration of compensation payments has been extended from three to six months, allowing employers to receive support over a longer period.
The compensation amounts to the minimum wage, currently set at 8,000 hryvnias, for each internally displaced person employed and contributing to social security.Furthermore, the application process has been simplified: now companies can submit their applications to employment centers based on their actual operating locations, not only their legal addresses.
This change enables faster and more convenient access to financial aid, facilitating IDPs’ employment and helping stabilize the economic situation while assisting internally displaced persons integrate into Ukrainian society.These measures demonstrate the government’s commitment to revitalizing the economy and supporting those affected by the war by providing better conditions for employment and social integration of displaced persons.
