Starting from October 10th, Ukraine’s state railway company, Ukrzaliznytsia, is implementing a significant new project—initiating daily passenger trains between Ukrainian cities and Romania’s capital, Bucharest.

This initiative marks an important milestone in the development of Ukraine’s transportation network and will facilitate closer integration into the European transport space.

The route will pass through several key stations: Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhmerinka, Mogyliiv-Podilskyi, Velchyntsi, Ungheni, Iași, culminating in Bucharest.

This will provide convenient and rapid connectivity for hundreds of travelers.

The train departs from Kyiv at 06:30 AM and arrives at Bucharest Station at 06:47 the next day.

The return trip departs from Bucharest at 19:10 and reaches Kyiv at 19:41 the following day.

The train will arrive at Gara de Nord, the main station in Bucharest, from where express electric trains operate daily to the airport.

The cost of a ticket in a reserved-seat carriage is approximately 3800 hryvnias, which can be purchased via the official website or mobile app of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Company officials state that this route is yet another step toward integrating Ukraine into the European transport system, which will promote tourism and business exchanges.

Expanding rail connections opens new opportunities for Ukrainians to travel and work across Europe, strengthening economic ties and internationalizing Ukrainian transport infrastructure.
