Starting October 1, 2023, new natural gas prices come into effect across Ukraine, significantly impacting the monthly expenses of households nationwide.

Consumers are required to pay their utility bills punctually and submit gas meter readings to ensure correct billing based on the updated tariffs.

The publication ‘GasTruth’ provides detailed insights into what prices will be applicable from the beginning of autumn and highlights changes compared to previous periods.

It is notable that Ukrainian suppliers have announced their current tariffs effective in October, with long-term (annual) offers remaining unchanged, while short-term (monthly) prices have increased to over 26 hryvnias per cubic meter.

Currently, nine suppliers operate on the market, five of which offer both seasonal and long-term tariffs, providing consumers with options tailored to their needs and financial capabilities.

October’s monthly rates vary from 8.46 to 26.4 hryvnias per cubic meter, whereas annual tariffs range between 7.79 and 9.99 hryvnias.

The majority of households—over 98%—continue to purchase gas at the fixed rate of 7.96 hryvnias per cubic meter offered by Naftogaz Ukraine, valid until April 30, 2026.

Detailed pricing indicates that standards for consumers differ depending on the provider, with the lowest tariffs from Naftogaz Ukraine and Ternopil Oblgas Zbut, while other suppliers like Kyiv Energetic Services and Dnipro Energy Services set higher monthly prices.

The highest rates are found among the month-based offers of SvitoGaz (23.99 UAH) and LvivEnergoZbut (26.40 UAH).

These changes in gas pricing also coincide with adjustments in electricity tariffs, which have been updated since October 1.

Ukrainian households need to prepare for these economic shifts by adjusting their budgets and monitoring official communications from providers to avoid unexpected costs and penalties.
