New Electricity Tariffs from October 1: What Ukrainians Can Expect During the Coming Heating Season

Starting from October, Ukrainians are facing new electricity tariffs that will impact their household budgets during the upcoming heating season.

This month, the electricity rate for domestic consumers remains stable at 4.32 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour, in line with previous agreements between regulators and energy companies.

Additionally, from October 1, the heating season begins, scheduled to last until April 30, 2026, which will include the implementation of special tariffs for households equipped with electric heating.

Provided the heating type is registered in the property’s documentation, these tariffs are set at 2.64 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour for consumption up to 2000 kWh per month and 4.32 hryvnias per kWh for higher consumption.

To reduce electricity costs, consumers can install a dual-zone meter, allowing them to pay according to the time of day: during daytime hours (7:00 a.m.

to 11:00 p.m.) at 4.32 hryvnias, and at night (11:00 p.m.

to 7:00 a.m.) at 2.16 hryvnias.

It’s also important to remind Kyiv residents about the deadlines for submitting water meter readings to ensure accurate billing and avoid overpaying.

These changes are expected to influence the household budgets of most Ukrainians and require careful planning and efficient energy use.
