State Banks Regain Ownership Rights to Kyiv’s Guliwer Mall Due to Unpaid Debts of Previous Owner

A lengthy and complex legal battle in Kyiv has reached its conclusion, resulting in two major state financial institutions — Oschadbank and Ukreximbank — officially reclaiming ownership of the widely recognized Guliwer shopping and entertainment complex.
This breakthrough was achieved through court decisions that canceled previous agreements and mandated the former owner, Trі O LLC, to settle outstanding debts accumulated before the banks.
According to Alexander Bevz, a supervisory board member of Ukreximbank, these legal rulings confirm their status as owners under enforcement proceedings, as Guliwer had debts exceeding 675 million dollars to the banks.
Data published in the extract from the state real estate registry shows that Trі O owed Oschadbank over 537 million dollars, and nearly 138 million dollars to Ukreximbank.
It is noteworthy that Guliwer is a large-scale multifunctional complex situated in the heart of Kyiv, comprising a shopping mall and high-class business centers.
The building’s height reaches 141.8 meters, making it one of the most prominent architectural landmarks in the city.
State banks now plan to intensify efforts to restore ownership rights and optimize management of the property to transform it into a more effective and profitable asset for the capital.
