Cultural Breakthrough: Spanish singer Rosalía releases multilingual album including Ukrainian
Spanish contemporary music star Rosalía has made a significant step in her artistic career by unveiling her new album titled LUX, distinguished by its use of thirteen languages, among which Ukrainian makes its debut.
She shared this milestone during the Popcast teaser, with the full episode released on October 30.
The album’s grand premiere is scheduled for November 7, and it will be the artist’s fourth studio release under Columbia Records.
The recording process involved the London Symphony Orchestra, adding a rich and multidimensional sound.
This cultural phenomenon not only showcases the multilingual capabilities of modern music but also underscores Rosalía’s desire to gain a deeper understanding of the diverse languages and cultures around the world.
She repeatedly emphasized that the idea to create a multilingual album stemmed from her curiosity and wish to connect more profoundly with others, learning to love more deeply and understand herself and those around her through languages.
During the process, she used Google Translate and collaborated with professional translators to ensure accurate and authentic lyrics.
The album LUX features songs in Spanish, Ukrainian, English, German, Italian, Arabic, and several other languages.
The first single from the album is “Berghain,” performed in German, now available on streaming platforms.
This project is more than just music — it is a voice for modern openness and cultural dialogue, demonstrating how music can serve as a universal language of peace and understanding.
