Chas Pravdy - 15 October 2025 22:45

In the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, a significant cultural event opened its doors, dedicated to the Hungarian Day of Painting.

The exhibition entitled “Fates of Women, Their Images and Representations in the Works of Transcarpathian Artists” was organized by the Hungarian Embassy in Ukraine in collaboration with the Society of Hungarian Artists of Transcarpathia named after Imre Reves.

Taking place at the Museum of Kyiv’s History from October 15 to 26, 2025, the exhibition aims to promote Hungarian art, introduce Ukrainian audiences to the rich traditions and contemporary trends in painting.

The displayed artworks encompass various techniques such as painting, graphics, sculpture, and photo installations, with a central focus on the theme of women — depicting their stories across different life stages: youth, maturity, joy, solitude, and resilience.

At the core of the exhibition lies the symbol of woman as a source of inspiration, creativity, and vitality.

Through their works, Transcarpathian artists explore the multifaceted nature of female destiny, examining the notions of femininity and the role of women in modern society.

This project fosters a cultural dialogue between Ukraine and Hungary, bridging their artistic traditions and strengthening international cultural ties.

Visitors are given the opportunity to not only admire masterful artworks but also to delve into the profound stories of women unveiled through art.

The opening ceremony featured speeches by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary to Ukraine, Antal Heizer, as well as prominent Ukrainian art critics and cultural leaders.

The exhibition will be available until October 26 at the Kyiv City History Museum located at Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street, 7, on the fourth floor.

The visiting hours are from Wednesday to Sunday, between 12:00 and 19:00.

The entrance fee for adults is 100 hryvnias, with reduced tickets costing 50 hryvnias.

This event offers a unique chance for Kyiv residents and visitors to immerse themselves in Hungarian artistic heritage and deepen their understanding of women’s imagery in art and culture.
