Winter Weather Forecast for 2025-2026: Coldest Months and Climate Changes
Every winter presents a challenge for Ukraine and Europe due to regular attacks by Russia on energy infrastructure.
These actions often leave millions of Ukrainians without electricity, complicating daily life during cold and freezing temperatures.
According to Ukrainian meteorologists, the winter season of 2025-2026 is expected to bring several surprises.
Preliminary forecasts indicate that December in Western Europe may be somewhat warmer than average, with increased humidity levels observed in France and Great Britain.
Meanwhile, January is expected to see a gradual drop in temperatures, with February potentially emerging as the coldest month, characterized by temperatures falling below multi-year averages across most of the continent.
Frequent incursions of Arctic air and heavy snowfall are also anticipated.
It is important to note that these estimates are approximate, and the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center will provide more precise forecasts closer to the season, as accurate weather prediction is only possible몇 days in advance.
Additionally, climate change data confirms that 2024 was one of the warmest years on record, with global mean temperatures exceeding pre-industrial levels by 1.5°C.
Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent, and over the next century, global temperatures could rise by another 2.7°C.
Although not the worst-case scenario, such warming poses significant threats to human life and ecological systems worldwide.
