Free Long-Term Nursing Care for Internally Displaced Persons: New Opportunities and Program Details
A significant number of Ukrainians forced to leave their homes due to current challenges are now receiving government-supported assistance in the form of free medical services.
Special focus is placed on providing long-term nursing care for internally displaced persons (IDPs), who undergo specific procedures after evacuation.
According to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, upon arrival at transit points, IDPs receive consultations from medical professionals, and if necessary, they are referred to appropriate facilities for further treatment and stabilization of their condition.
The program offers a wide range of services including adherence to doctor’s prescriptions, medical manipulations, health status monitoring, psychological support, assistance with housing and essential items, and organized nutrition at least four times a day according to MOH standards.
The stay in medical facilities is limited to 30 days per year.
The list of participating hospitals is determined by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Policy, and interested institutions can submit proposals via the electronic health system.
The service is funded from the state budget, with providers entering into agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine.
The daily tariff for a healthcare facility is 530.66 UAH per patient.
For consultations, contact the Government Contact Center at 15-45 or the NHSU at 16-77.
