Zelensky Reveals Confidential Agreement with Trump on Tomahawk Missiles
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently disclosed behind-the-scenes negotiations conducted during his meeting with U.S.
President Donald Trump.
According to Zelensky, the two leaders agreed to refrain from publicly discussing the potential transfer of American long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, as Washington seeks to avoid escalating the conflict with Russia.
Zelensky emphasized that the issue of missile assistance was addressed during the talks, but specifics remain confidential.
He mentioned that Trump showed interest in providing these missiles, yet no formal deal has been finalized.
Following the meeting, Zelensky also shared that he handed over maps indicating key Russian military points to bolster Ukraine’s defense.
Despite the confidentiality, the Ukrainian leader remains optimistic about the prospects of acquiring the missiles, though he acknowledged that the U.S.
is maintaining its reserves for its own needs and does not want to deplete its stockpiles.
After the negotiations, Trump left the White House and traveled to his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, without making any official statements to the press.
Experts suggest that such agreements could significantly impact Ukraine’s strategic military capabilities, though they currently remain private and unofficial.
