Key conclusions of Zelensky’s US visit: strategic agreements and future steps

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conducted an important diplomatic visit to the United States aimed at bolstering international support in the fight for the country’s security and sovereignty.

Ukraine’s ambassador to the US, Olga Stefanishyna, shared key details of the trip and the results of negotiations via her Telegram channel.

According to her, during the visit, Zelensky informed his American counterpart, Donald Trump, about the current situation at the front lines, particularly the devastating impact of Russian missile strikes on Ukraine’s energy system and urgent defense needs.

The diplomats agreed on the crucial role that the US and European partners should play in ensuring Ukraine’s security and protection from Russia’s aggression.

Kyiv sees the need to increase pressure on Moscow to end the war and return to diplomatic solutions.

The visit included several productive meetings, notably with US Energy Secretary Chris Remaier, involving leading energy companies such as Bechtel, Fluence Energy, and others, to discuss cooperation in energy and security sectors.

There were also discussions about strengthening Ukraine’s defense through the supply of Patriot systems, missiles, and F-16 fighters, as well as joint production possibilities.

Zelensky also held meetings with US think tank representatives to explore ways to achieve peace.

The background of the trip includes Zelensky’s visit to the White House on October 17 at Donald Trump’s invitation.

During this meeting, discussions focused on missile delivery and military technology cooperation, although it is known that currently the US is not considering providing Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, offering alternative support options instead.
