Ukraine braces for sudden cold snap and wet snow: meteorologists urge quick weather preparedness
As the new workweek begins, Ukrainians are being warned about dangerous changes in weather conditions across the country.
According to leading Ukrainian meteorologists, starting from Sunday, October 19th, significant cooling and atmospheric precipitation in the form of rain, which could turn into wet snow overnight, are expected across Ukraine.
Experts caution that the air temperature will drop to +4…+8 degrees Celsius, with slightly higher temperatures forecasted for the southern and eastern regions.
Given the unstable weather, drivers are advised to replace their summer tires with winter ones today to avoid hazardous road conditions.
Natalka Didenko, Ukraine’s chief weather forecaster, predicts a gradual warm-up starting from October 22nd.
Nonetheless, Ukrainians should remain attentive to weather reports, as heavy rain combined with snow could cause unexpected disruptions, especially in urban and rural areas.
Meteorologists urge citizens to stay informed and prepare in advance for the increasingly unpredictable autumn weather, emphasizing the importance of early readiness to ensure safety and comfort during this abrupt climatic shift.
