Border crossing restrictions between Ukraine and Poland due to road repairs in Lviv region

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine warns of scheduled changes at the Rava-Ruska checkpoint in Lviv region, starting from October 7.
On that day, major repair work on the roadway will begin at this significant crossing point, which handles a large volume of transit and passenger traffic.
According to border authorities, the repairs will last until the end of October 2025 and will affect both lanes for entry into Ukraine and exit from the country.
However, during the renovation, traffic flows will be adjusted: entry into Ukraine will be temporarily closed, and vehicles will be redirected to the outbound lane.
This situation may cause delays and lines, as only one lane will be operational during the repair period.
Border officials advise drivers to consider this information when planning their trips and to opt for alternative crossing points if possible to avoid potential delays.
The increased movement between Ukraine and Poland has led to heightened interest, with Polish border guards recording a significant rise in Ukrainian travelers aged 18–22 crossing the border during this period.
Compared to August, the number of such crossings has increased more than tenfold, and the number of return trips from Poland to Ukraine has grown 3.5 times.
Despite these figures, Ukrainian border authorities stated they do not maintain detailed statistics regarding this increased movement.
