Strengthening power supply in Shostka after Russian attacks

Recently, the city of Shostka in Sumy region faced a tense situation regarding power supply, following new waves of Russian shelling that damaged critical regional infrastructure.
Local authorities announced measures to stabilize energy provision and assist residents in coping with the aftermath of attacks.
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, additional resilience points were launched starting Monday, October 6, where residents can warm up, charge their devices, enjoy hot beverages, and receive essential support.
During this emergency situation, more than 125 resilience centers are operational, providing basic needs for the population.
The administration also emphasized that emergency services—including medics, rescuers, energy workers, utility workers, volunteers, and officials—are working in coordinated efforts to restore vital services and support the community.
Notably, hot meals are organized for children, and aid is provided to those in need.
Recall that on October 4, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack, including kamikaze drones ‘Shahids,’ targeting the Sumy region, with one of the main attacks hitting the Shostka–Kyiv passenger train.
As a result, parts of the city lost electricity, gas, and water supplies, and eight people are hospitalized, including two in intensive care.
Infrastructure damages have left several settlements, including Shostka, without essential utilities.
