Russian Forces Intensify Offensive Near Lyman: A Growing Threat to Ukraine’s Key Towns

Significant advances by Russian occupation troops in the Lyman area are raising concerns among Ukrainian military officials and analysts.

Military officer with the call sign «Alex» reported that the Russians have expanded their positions from the captured Terny village to the areas of Serebryanka and Lyman.

According to him, the situation on this section of the front has become less favorable for Ukrainian defenders, due to the enemy’s use of ‘tent tactics’ and motorcycle sabotage units.

These tactics complicate the defense and increase the risk of the enemy reaching strategic settlements such as Novoselivka and Drobysheve.

The officer emphasized that these successes are partial, but they create real problems for Ukrainian forces.

He analyzed that the threat of a breakthrough towards the Siverskyi Donets River, as occurred in 2022, remains high, especially if the Russians manage to reach positions close to this line of defense.

Another Ukrainian soldier, Stanislav Bunyatov, stated that enemy tactics have evolved significantly: instead of conventional air and artillery strikes, the Russians now rely heavily on FPV drones and assault groups, significantly raising the threat level to Ukrainian cities like Lyman, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk.

Ukrainian troops continue to face increasing provocations, with Russian troops concentrating massed infantry, conducting sabotage and reconnaissance missions, and launching infiltrations.

The situation at the Lyman-Siverskyi direction remains extremely tense and complex, requiring additional resources and strategic decisions to contain enemy advances and prevent a breakthrough of their defensive lines.
