On the night of Sunday, October 5, Russian occupying forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure, causing extensive damage and widespread power outages across multiple regions of the country.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, equipment at local energy companies in Zaporizhzhia was damaged during a complex combined attack, which resulted in a blackout for many residents in Zaporizhzhia city and surrounding districts.

Simultaneously, in Chernihiv region, Russian troops attacked the energy sector again, leading to scheduled power outages.

The situation in Sumy region remains tense, with the energy system still facing difficulties.

In Vinnytsia region, the occupiers targeted an industrial facility, further disrupting energy supplies.

Lviv and its surroundings endured a massive rocket and drone attack, damaging industrial and energy facilities.

In Ivano-Frankivsk region, the invaders attacked critical infrastructure objects, complicating energy provision further.

Regional authorities are conducting emergency recovery works, but the consequences of these strikes significantly affect millions of Ukrainians’ daily lives.
