Massive Russian missile and drone attacks cause significant damage in Ivano-Frankivsk region

On the night of Sunday, October 5th, Ukraine faced a stern test of resilience as Russian forces launched a large-scale assault utilizing a barrage of missiles and kamikaze drones.
According to the regional military administration of Ivano-Frankivsk, the aggressor conducted over a dozen strikes targeting critical infrastructure facilities across the region.
The attacks aimed to weaken the region’s energy and transportation systems, thereby complicating daily life for local residents.
Fortunately, there are no reports of casualties or injuries at this time, but residential and industrial buildings suffered considerable damage. The assault, involving various types of rockets and drones—including the so-called ‘Shahid’ drones—affected not only Ivano-Frankivsk but also neighboring areas.
In Lviv, which was also targeted, a large fire broke out at the Sparrow industrial park, destroying several enterprises and creating a dangerous situation for the population.
Preliminary data indicate that two people lost their lives, and two others were injured during these mass attacks.
Local authorities urged residents not to go outside, to close windows, and to use personal protective equipment to avoid harmful smoke inhalation and debris. These aggressive actions by Kremlin demonstrate its focused efforts to undermine stability and security in Ukrainian regions, while Ukrainian forces continue to seek ways to counter these threats and strengthen defenses.
