Zelensky Signs New Sanctions Against Russia: Steps in International Pressure System
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently signed a series of important decrees aimed at intensifying sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation in response to ongoing aggression and military actions.
These documents envisage the extension of existing restrictions as well as the introduction of new measures targeting the military-industrial complex, the oil sector, and specific businessmen and companies involved in Russia’s economy.
Zelensky emphasized that this is part of a systematic policy of pressure that Ukraine is coordinating with international partners, including the European Union and the United States.
He added that Ukraine advocates for strict responses to terrorist methods and believes that Russia must face the consequences of its actions.
The decrees contain lists of individuals and legal entities involved in Russia’s military and energy sectors, as well as companies supplying technologies and components.
Notably, the sanctions include drone manufacturers, optical devices, counter-drone systems, and components for strike UAVs.
These steps are part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to increase Russia’s isolation and prepare for further international sanctions, including the upcoming adoption of the EU’s 19th sanctions package.
