Yuriy Kasyanov announces disbandment of his drone reconnaissance unit amid political pressure and suspicions of sabotage

Renowned Ukrainian expert in aerial reconnaissance and founder of the public drone engineering bureau «Matrix-UAV», Yuriy Kasyanov, has officially announced the disbandment of his military unit, in which he and his son served.
According to Kasyanov, this decision was made under the orders of Andriy Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, and is believed to be the result of political pressure and power struggles within military circles.
Kasyanov emphasized that his team demonstrated high operational effectiveness in combat missions, but their success became a target of persecution.
He claimed that his unit faced constant pressure from the Internal Security Service, which sought to find damaging compromising materials or accuse him falsely of corruption and receiving illicit benefits.
Kasyanov refutes such accusations, asserting that all resources for his unit were provided independently or through volunteer and business initiatives, including drones and vehicle supplies.
He also suggested revealing information about the exploitation of forced labor at a certain enterprise linked to the authorities, accused of producing ineffective drones.
Meanwhile, he highlighted that his unit was several times more efficient than others, yet its activities were deliberately ignored or undermined from higher up.
Kasyanov further accused government structures of corruption and widespread abuse in the defense sector, especially concerning the misappropriation of donor funds, which hampers Ukraine’s military capabilities and erodes public trust.
