Ukraine strongly condemned the terrorist attack near a Jewish synagogue in Manchester, which occurred during the sacred Yom Kippur holiday.

Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga emphasized on behalf of the Ukrainian government that acts of terror cannot destroy shared values and unity among nations.

He expressed that Ukraine offers sincere solidarity with the United Kingdom, the city of Manchester, and Jewish communities across Britain in the wake of this bloody incident.

According to official reports, two people lost their lives as a result of the attack, while four others remain in serious condition.

The assailant sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

British authorities classified the incident as a terrorist act.

Notably, congregants managed to prevent the attacker from entering the synagogue, despite many worshippers being present for Yom Kippur prayers at the time.

This tragic event marks yet another instance of rising violence worldwide, alongside recent incidents such as the attack on a mosque in Nigeria’s Kaduna state, which resulted in 27 fatalities, and a shooting in a church in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, where two women were killed and three others injured.

Ukraine extends its deepest sympathies to the families of those affected by this and similar acts of violence, reaffirming the common values of peace and solidarity.
