Security Service of Ukraine uncovers large-scale treason linked to the assassination of deputy Andriy Parubiy
Ukraine’s leading investigative agencies, including the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), have managed to gather indisputable evidence of treason related to the murder of Member of Parliament Andriy Parubiy — a prominent political figure and vital source of military and political intelligence.
According to official reports released on October 3rd, the suspect involved in this crime was recruited by Russian intelligence agencies more than a year ago.
Since then, he was tasked with gathering information, including tracking the locations of Ukrainian defense forces, disclosing troop deployments, and monitoring train routes with fuel shipments — all in an effort to assess and enable larger sabotage activities.
The murder of Parubiy, presumed to be financed by the aggressor country, was one of the ordered acts, with the perpetrator also preparing to flee abroad after executing the crime.
The suspect was intercepted by law enforcement on the Khmelnytskyi region while attempting to leave Ukraine illegally, thwarting his escape plan.
Based on collected evidence, he faces charges under Article 111 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (treason in times of martial law).
Currently, he is detained, and Ukrainian authorities are pushing for a lengthy sentence with asset confiscation.
According to law enforcement officials, this case signifies a major crackdown on infiltration and sabotage operations targeting Ukraine’s sovereignty.
