Preparing for Winter Time: How to Minimize Its Negative Impact on Ukrainians’ Health

However, this process can significantly affect the health and well-being of many.

The switch to winter time involves reverting clocks, which may lead to various unpleasant symptoms due to disruption of biological rhythms.

Citizens are wondering whether there will be a return to standard time in 2025, as this topic has sparked much debate.

Medical experts warn that the transition may worsen individual health, causing fatigue, concentration issues, appetite disturbances, gastrointestinal discomfort, and even exacerbating cardiovascular problems and mood swings.

To mitigate these effects and help the body adapt swiftly, specialists recommend adhering to several simple rules: minimize psychological stress, relax your schedule, avoid planning crucial tasks during the transition, maintain a balanced diet, and ensure sufficient sleep.

Adults should go to bed no later than 11:00 PM, while children need to follow a sleep schedule appropriate to their age—ranging from 6-7 PM for younger students to 9-10 PM for teenagers.

Ukrainian scientists have already appealed to President Volodymyr Zelensky to veto the law aimed at abolishing the daylight saving time change, emphasizing that this practice is vital for preserving the natural biological balance and regulating circadian rhythms.

Proper preparation and sleep discipline are essential for a healthy adaptation to the winter time change.
