Zaporizhzhia Under Attack: High-Rise Burns, Casualties and Structural Damage
During the night of September 28, Russian forces launched a powerful series of air strikes on the city of Zaporizhzhia, resulting in at least eight injured residents.
The attacks caused a large fire in a multi-story residential building located in the city center, with flames engulfing parts of the structure.
In addition to civilian casualties, critical infrastructure facilities and industrial sites were damaged; this included production premises of a local enterprise and several infrastructure objects.
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the number of casualties increased by morning, with victims remaining in hospitals.
Particularly serious was the explosion at a critical infrastructure facility, including a fuel station and educational institutions.
One residential building was also affected by the explosions, which caused a fire.
Rescue services are working tirelessly across all affected areas to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and assist the local population.

This night was one of the most challenging for the city, as Russian forces also attacked Kyiv and its suburbs, causing additional damage and injuries.
