Ukrainian Naval Air Defense Sets New Record in Destroyed Drones

Chas Pravdy - 28 September 2025 08:24

On the night of September 28, Ukraine’s Naval Forces demonstrated exceptional combat performance by shooting down a record number of enemy kamikaze drones, specifically the SHAHED-136 model, amid ongoing fierce confrontation with Russian aggressors.

According to official information released via the Ukrainian Navy’s Telegram channel, naval units successfully intercepted and destroyed 15 unmanned aerial vehicles attempting to strike Ukraine that night.

Details about the exact locations of these attacks were not specified; however, it is known that the entire Ukrainian maritime and air fronts were actively engaged in countering the enemy’s assault.

Multiple air raid alerts were issued across all coastal regions — from Odessa and Mykolaiv to Kherson.

Reports from monitoring sources indicated explosions near Bessarabia town of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and elsewhere in the Odessa region.

Ukrainian military aviation also indicated participation in combat operations against enemy drones beyond the maritime zones, utilizing aircraft to target threats at longer distances.

This night proved to be one of the most successful for Ukraine’s air defense forces in recent times, as Ukrainian defenders continue their efforts to protect the nation’s security, destroying enemy targets on land, sea, and in the air.
