Russia’s Attack on Kyiv: Drone and Missile Strikes Cause Casualties and Extensive Destruction

On the night of September 28, Kyiv again came under attack by Russian forces using drones and missiles to target the city, resulting in significant destruction and loss of life.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, at least two people were killed and several injured during this intensified air assault.

The main strike hit the Solomianskyi district, where a five-story building of the Cardiological Institute was targeted, leading to extensive damage and human casualties.

Inside the building, the body of a 12-year-old girl was recovered, and three adults were rescued.

Debris also ignited a two-story non-residential structure, and other sites suffered damage to warehouses and private residences.

In Holosiivskyi district, a private one-story house was partially destroyed—roof and walls damaged, but no fire occurred.

Other locations reported falling debris on open grounds, and in Svyatoshynskyi district, car fires broke out due to the strikes.

In Dniprovskiy district, a preschool building was damaged.

Kyiv’s military administration head, Tymur Tkachenko, announced that, according to updated information, another victim’s body was found in one of the districts.

Overall, at least four people have been confirmed dead as a result of the attack, and rescue efforts continue.
