Massive Drone and Missile Attacks on Mykolaiv Region: Destruction and Casualties
Last night, Russian military forces launched a massive attack on the territory of the Mykolaiv region, employing kamikaze drones of the Shahed type, leading to extensive destruction and human injuries.
According to the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast, more than ten drones were used in the assault on the city of Ochakiv, part of the region.
As a result of these strikes, recreational infrastructure was damaged, and fires broke out at the impact sites.
Firefighters responded swiftly, and with the efforts of eight personnel, managed to extinguish the fires in holiday resort buildings covering an area of over two thousand square meters.
Besides material damages, the attack caused injuries to two local residents—an 18-year-old young man and a 47-year-old woman.
They were promptly hospitalized in a condition of moderate severity.
Additionally, a day prior, Russian forces targeted Ochakiv and surrounding communities with FPV drones, leading to further injuries among civilians.
The Mykolaiv region has faced repeated attacks: a few days ago, infrastructural facilities in the area were struck by missile fire, resulting in power outages on sections of railway tracks, complicating logistical operations.
These aggressive actions continue to escalate tensions and pose new challenges for both civilians and regional defense forces.
