Kyiv Drone Attack: Initial Consequences and City Officials’ Response
A new drone attack has struck Kyiv, causing significant damage to residential areas of the city.
On the morning of September 28, residents reported a direct hit from an enemy drone on a five-story apartment building in the Solomyan district.
Witnesses described hearing the impact at around 4:50 AM, with debris hitting the building.
Shortly after, official reports confirmed that fragments of the drone caused damage to the roof of the five-story building and nearby non-residential structures.
Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, quickly verified that the debris resulted in partial destruction of the building and surrounding infrastructure.
Preliminary assessments indicate that the incident affected the roofs and caused partial destruction in the district.
Emergency services are currently working at the scene to evaluate the extent of the damage and ensure safety.
Additionally, in the Dnipro district, medics responded to residents injured by falling debris.
Collapses and debris falls were also reported in the Sviatoshyn and Holosiiv districts, complicating the situation further.
City authorities urge residents to remain calm and follow safety instructions as investigative and rescue operations continue.
