Explosions in Kyiv Region: Causes and Official Response
On the night of September 28th, the Kyiv region experienced a series of explosions around 3:30 a.m., causing alarm among residents and authorities alike.
According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were detected flying in the airspace of the region, with air defenses quickly responding to and neutralizing these threats.
The administration urges citizens to remain in shelters until the air raid is over and to refrain from sharing any operational information that could reveal the activities of Ukraine’s defenders.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the main part of the attack drones was moving through the airspace of Cherkasy, Kyiv, and Poltava regions, with air defenses managing to intercept some threats.
