Ukrainian soldiers repel Russian attack in Kharkiv region and destroy drone in ambush

Chas Pravdy - 27 September 2025 00:37

In the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian defenders once again demonstrated their proficiency in countering Russian aerial threats amid active combat operations.

Participants in the operation successfully shot down an enemy drone attempting an attack and inflicted significant damage on it during an ambush.

According to journalist Yuriy Butusov, the incident occurred during the movement of Ukrainian troops heading from one position to another.

At that moment, on a fiber optic cable that served as a camera, a Russian drone appeared, waiting for its target – Ukrainian soldiers.

A soldier quickly and decisively opened fire with small arms, hitting and destroying the drone, showcasing the skill and quick response of Ukrainian defenders.

The footage of the incident was widely circulated on social media after publication by Yuriy Butusov.

Additionally, in the Mykolaiv region, Russian forces used drones to attack a critical energy infrastructure object.

According to military sources, after completing a combat task, Ukrainian troops were returning with their driver when a Russian drone was spotted at an intersection.

The first two targeted shots disabled the camera, which couldn’t record the drone’s destruction, but a third FPV shot eliminated the device.

This incident further confirmed the professionalism and effectiveness of Ukrainian soldiers in challenging conditions.

The operation took place near the village of Velyki Prokhody in the Kharkiv region, highlighting the tense situation on the front line as of late September.

Recall that on September 26, Kharkiv was subjected to another massive shelling by Russian forces, targeting a shopping mall in the Kyiv district.

The attack damaged a municipal bus with passengers, and at least four people were reported wounded.

This underscores the ongoing intensity of the conflict in eastern Ukraine and the heavy toll it exacts on local residents and Ukrainian defenders alike.
