Ukrainian Forces Advance in Donetsk Region: Gains and Uncertainties on the Frontline

Chas Pravdy - 27 September 2025 06:31

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively making tactical progress in the Donetsk region, achieving certain advancements in front line strategic positions and the liberation of key settlements.

Recent reports indicate successes by our troops in specific sectors, particularly near Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka.

Despite these gains, the situation remains tense and complex, as Russian forces focus efforts on encircling vital cities such as Kostiantynivka and Sviatohirsk.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian troops have reportedly advanced to the outskirts of Pleschiivka, a village that is likely now free of occupation.

Meanwhile, Russian-language Telegram channels claim the capture of several villages and advances north of Klepansk, yet these reports lack verified confirmation.

The Ukrainian General Staff reports that on the Toretsk direction, Russian troops launched 24 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the area of Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka; the occupiers concentrate their efforts in the regions of Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Bik, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and Poltavka.

Additionally, there are reports of Russian advances near Yampil in northern Donetsk.

The frontline situation remains highly dynamic and unpredictable, with Ukrainian forces continuing their fierce resistance, fighting inch by inch to hold their positions and prevent further territorial gains by the enemy.
