Malicious Propaganda in Occupied Territories: How Russian Troops Use Education to Shape Future Russian Patriots
In the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, which are currently under Russian control, shocking cases of youth being exploited as tools of propaganda have once again come to light.
According to the Center for National Resistance, children in an occupied cultural palace were ordered to draw portraits of Russian soldiers.
This occurred during a lesson when a military officer unexpectedly entered the classroom and personally explained to the children about the fighting against Ukraine.
Such incidents vividly illustrate how Russia utilizes educational tools to spread propaganda, shape a positive perception of the occupiers in young minds, and interfere with their psychological adaptation.
It is both a strategy in information warfare and a method of controlling the future generation.
It is also worth noting that this year, Russians dropped more than fifteen bombs on the shelling Kherson in just one hour, demonstrating their ruthlessness and intention to intensify intimidation among local residents.
Furthermore, in Luhansk, the occupiers forced students to donate blood for injured Russian soldiers during the ‘For Our’ campaign.
According to the Center for National Resistance, nearly 40% of the donors in the so-called ‘LPR’ are students, coercively involved through pressure from educational administrations.
This exemplifies how Russia turns the education system into a propaganda tool and a means of manipulating youth for its treacherous objectives.
