Chernihiv Region Struck by Enemy Attacks: 177 Localities Without Power Due to Rocket Strikes
Following recent missile strikes by Russian forces, the Chernihiv region faces a severe crisis in its energy sector.
According to official reports, over 177 settlements in Nizhyn and Pryluky districts have been left without electricity.
This means nearly 54,000 residents are experiencing power outages, complicating daily life and regional operations.
The company ‘Chernihivoblenergo’ confirmed that Russian troops are deliberately targeting the region’s energy infrastructure to escalate psychological and economic pressure.
Attacks have been documented amid preparations for potential new offensives, prompting extensive emergency repair work.
This is not the first incident involving damage to energy infrastructure due to military actions in Chernihiv.
Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, stated that Russian forces struck 21 towns and villages, destroying electrical facilities and residential buildings, resulting in fires and additional destruction.
Restoring power under such conditions is expected to take longer than anticipated, requiring significant efforts from emergency crews.
Local authorities urge residents to remain cautious and calm, as the situation remains tense and unpredictable.
