Ukrainian General Staff Reveals Route of Hungarian Drone Intrusion into Ukrainian Airspace near Zakarpattia
On the morning of September 26, Ukrainian military radar operators detected an unusual aerial object approaching Ukraine’s borders.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff, within a few minutes, over the Zakarpattia region, an unidentified drone was recorded making two separate passes at different altitudes.
The military command confirmed that this was a foreign unmanned aerial vehicle intentionally crossing Ukraine’s state border from the Hungarian side.
To prevent escalation and minimize potential threats, Ukrainian defense forces responded swiftly by deploying aerial patrol systems, specifically the ‘Chaklun-KM’ UAV, to monitor the airspace over Uzhhorod.
Maps released by the General Staff illustrate the drone’s flight path and altitude profile.
This incident underscores the ongoing importance of border security measures and continuous surveillance to ensure Ukraine’s sovereignty and safety in its border regions.
