Autumn Transition into Cold Season: Forecasters Warn of Frosts and Unexpected Cold Snaps

Chas Pravdy - 26 September 2025 18:19

As autumn approaches in Ukraine, residents brace for significant changes in weather conditions that are expected to bring not only short-term cooling but also unforeseen frosts capable of damaging crops and complicating daily life.

According to leading meteorologists, the upcoming weekend will feature predominantly chilly and windy weather.

As per the forecast, a stationary Scandinavian anticyclone will dominate the atmosphere, creating stable conditions with temperatures remaining relatively steady.

Night frosts, particularly on the ground surface, are anticipated, while daytime temperatures will rise to around +13 to +19 degrees Celsius, offering a degree of comfort for residents and tourists alike.

In certain regions, especially the Carpathians, temperatures could be even lower, and weather conditions more variable.

It is also likely that western and northern areas will experience localized showers on some days, while southern and eastern regions will enjoy clear and sunny weather without precipitation.

Moving into Sunday, the cool weather pattern will gradually shift, and by September 28, most regions should see a decrease in rainfall, although short-term showers may still occur in some areas.

Meteorologists emphasize that such fluctuations are typical during seasonal transitions, and it is advisable to prepare for sudden drops in temperature, especially at night.

We hope this information helps everyone better understand upcoming weather patterns and take appropriate measures to stay warm and safe.
