Polish President Nawirowski Announces Possible Visit to Kyiv for Meeting with Zelensky
High-ranking Polish diplomat and President Karol Nawirowski has hinted at the possibility of his upcoming visit to Kyiv, though he has not set a specific date for the trip.
During a press conference in New York, he mentioned that such a meeting could take place during an active phase of diplomatic contacts, which would occur at the end of his first month of international and European travel.
Nawirowski emphasized that “a meeting with Zelensky in Kyiv is naturally possible given the current diplomatic momentum,” adding that he had a brief conversation with the Ukrainian leader in which they exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and Europe.
This statement comes amid criticism from Polish Vice Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, who denounced Nawirowski’s veto on legislation concerning aid to Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war, sparking political debates in Poland.
