Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently participated in a significant meeting with Annalena Baerbock, the Chair of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, held in New York.

During this event, both leaders focused on discussing Ukraine’s key priorities and pressing issues that demand immediate attention from the international community.

A major topic was the ongoing situation in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories, along with preparations and support for the renewed draft resolution concerning human rights violations in those regions.

Zelensky emphasized that he and his team are actively collaborating with international partners to initiate and promote a resolution condemning the kidnapping and deportation of Ukrainian children – crimes that evoke deep outrage and profound concern across Ukraine and the global community.

In his speech, Zelensky highlighted the importance of international support in this effort and underscored Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to seek peace and security.

The discussion also included the possibility of deploying UN peacekeeping forces in Ukraine to ensure stability, ceasefire, and post-war reconstruction, contingent upon the support of the majority of UN member states.

Such strategies could play a vital role in achieving long-term peace and security in the region, but their implementation depends on the consensus of the international community and decisions taken by the General Assembly.
