Ukraine has taken a significant step towards defining an optimal strategy for engaging with the U.S.
administration, aiming to enhance the chances of achieving the ultimate goal — ending the war.
According to Olha Stefanishyna, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, the country has established a new format of interaction with Washington that will greatly facilitate achieving concrete results regarding Russia’s aggression.
During a recent meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former U.S.
President Donald Trump, the leaders discussed the most urgent issues of the ongoing conflict — Ukraine’s military needs, battlefield situation, economic pressure exerted by Moscow, and other pressing topics.
Stefanishyna emphasized that these negotiations were particularly substantial and filled with important agreements.
She noted that the Ukrainian delegation will spend four days in New York working on various aspects of cooperation and coordinating with European colleagues.
At the same time, she pointed out that many details are still confidential and that all efforts should be directed towards bringing closer Ukraine’s victory and overcoming active conflict stages.
She expressed cautious optimism about the future negotiations and assured that Ukraine will do everything possible to implement its plans.
Meanwhile, an official White House social media account posted a photo from Zelensky’s meeting with Trump, highlighting the Ukrainian leader as a brave and heroic figure.
Trump acknowledged that his good relations with Vladimir Putin did not yield the desired results in ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.
He insisted that Ukraine should regain all occupied territories, emphasizing the importance of continued support for Kyiv in this fight.
