In the Kremlin, they responded to recent comments by former U.S.

President Donald Trump, who described Russia as a ‘paper tiger,’ hinting at perceived weakness and limited military capabilities.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Russia is more like a powerful bear than a fragile paper creature.

He pointed out that there are no ‘paper bears’ in Russia, implying the country’s resilience and ability to defend its interests.Peskov also mentioned that despite international sanctions and global economic turbulence, Russia’s economy remains stable.

According to him, the costs of the Russian military’s efforts at the front are fully covered and even surpass necessary resources.

This underscores Russia’s readiness to face external challenges confidently.Regarding negotiations, Peskov stated that Ukraine actively offers new meetings, but most proposals are concentrated in countries Russia perceives as unacceptable, notably Switzerland and Austria.

He added that Ukraine does not wish to establish working groups for negotiations, while Russia continues dialogue with the United States in pursuit of a compromise.

He noted that ‘dynamic on the front’ shows that those refusing negotiations now will find themselves in a much worse position soon.

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he discussed with Trump the inadmissibility of territorial concessions by Russia and hopes that the U.S.

leader has reconsidered his stance. For Russia, it is crucial to demonstrate strength and maintain internal stability even amid economic hardships, while pursuing diplomatic avenues to safeguard its interests in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine and Western countries.
