Local authorities in Russia have officially confirmed that the port city of Novorossiysk, situated on the Black Sea coast within the Краснодарский край (Krasnodar Krai), was targeted by drone strikes.

According to reports from Russian media and Telegram groups, the attack caused significant damage in the city center, as well as destruction of residential buildings and vehicles.

Novorossiysk’s governor, Andrey Kravchenko, announced the implementation of a state of emergency in response to the assault.

Casualties have been reported, with at least seven buildings, including a hotel, being damaged or destroyed.

Over twenty vehicles were affected, three of which were completely burned.

The incident also impacted public infrastructure and private property.

Additionally, warnings have been issued regarding potential future attacks, including in the nearby city of Gelendzhik, where heightened security measures have been put in place due to the threat of unmanned watercraft.

Videos circulating online depict water drones in Novorossiysk Bay, along with footage of fires and destruction across the city.

Ukrainian officials have not issued any comments on the situation to date.
