Internationally, urgent statements are once again highlighting Russia’s aggressive actions and its intentions to alter the regional balance of power.

Estonian President Alar Karis made a forceful speech during the UN Security Council, emphasizing that recent provocations by Russia are not random border violations but a deliberate effort to reshape Europe’s security structure to serve its own interests and ambitions.

He stated that these actions go beyond Ukraine and threaten the entire region’s stability.

During his address, Karis expressed gratitude to over 50 countries worldwide, which condemned Russia’s actions as reckless and dangerous violations of international law.

The Estonian leader reaffirmed that Moscow is not interested in peace or stability in Ukraine or Europe but aims to destabilize and remake the international order.

He emphasized that Ukraine fights not only for its sovereignty and territorial integrity but also upholds fundamental principles enshrined in the UN Charter—sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity—that are inviolable.

According to Karis, Russia’s ultimate goal remains unchanged: to subjugate Ukraine entirely and to reconfigure the European security framework for neo-colonial and imperial ambitions.

The only viable path to peace, he argues, lies in collective international pressure and strengthened sanctions.

Additionally, the President of Estonia addressed Russia on behalf of the Baltic states, calling for accountability for aggression, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

He stressed that lasting peace cannot exist without justice and accountability.

This stance underscores the unity of Western nations in their efforts to defend regional security and ensure stability across Europe.
