Canada has announced a substantial financial aid package to Ukraine amounting to 92 million hryvnias (approximately 2.5 million US dollars), aimed at bolstering the country’s cybersecurity sector.

This decision was officially communicated by the press service of Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation and aims to support critical aspects of the nation’s digital security amid escalating global cyber threats.

The allocated funds will focus on protecting vital infrastructure, developing rapid response systems to cyberattacks, countering hacking attempts, and establishing effective mechanisms for detecting potential vulnerabilities.Representatives from the Canadian government emphasize that ensuring stability in the digital sphere during wartime is crucial, but long-term digital resilience is equally important.

“We support Ukraine in this direction because digital services and critical infrastructure are vital for maintaining normal state operations and protecting citizens in these challenging war conditions,” reported the Canadian MFA.

This financial support forms part of broader international assistance initiatives, including efforts to strengthen security and develop state institutions.Additionally, Canada has already selected six projects for funding, which include support for the State Judicial Administration, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, and the State Border Guard Service.

Prime Minister Mark Carney highlighted that Canada is ready to provide Ukraine with long-term financial and military support and actively participate in shaping its future security system.
