Russian missile strike on Odessa region claims lives and causes widespread destruction

Late at night, Russian forces carried out a brutal missile attack on the city of Tatarbunary in southern Odessa region, resulting in tragic loss of life and extensive damage.

According to local authorities, a civilian woman was killed during the attack, while several other residents were injured of varying severity.

The vandalism inflicted by Russian troops extended beyond just missile strikes — significant damage was caused to critical social infrastructure, including postal and telecommunication facilities, as well as public service centers and cultural institutions.

Fires broke out in commercial kiosks in the city center, which were promptly extinguished by firefighters.

Additionally, Russian aggressors destroyed several residential buildings and infrastructural objects, such as Ukrtelecom, Ukrposhta, the administrative service center, a hotel, and a cultural house.

The attack resulted in numerous damaged vehicles, illustrating the scale of destruction.

Neighboring districts also suffered, with reports of structural damage and casualties.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s air defense successfully intercepted and destroyed over 100 drones of various types, including Shahed and Gerbera kamikaze drones.

The enemy launched three Iskander-M ballistic missiles, one of which hit its target.

Ukrainian security and defense forces remain committed to protecting civilians and neutralizing the ongoing threats posed by Russian aggression, which continues to devastate cities in the southern region of Ukraine.
