Amid ongoing military threats and the state of emergency in Ukraine, the topic of conscription readiness has become increasingly relevant for men of draft age.

However, the government is making efforts to consider special circumstances for certain groups, particularly parents of children with disabilities.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine recently announced plans to expand opportunities for obtaining deferments from mobilization through a new feature in the mobile application «Reserve+».

This innovation involves the implementation of an automated system that enables parents of children with disabilities, regardless of the child’s age, to quickly and easily receive official confirmation of their deferment.

This development aims to significantly ease the process, removing the need for submitting certificates or waiting in long queues at military recruitment centers or local draft offices.

Now, users will simply fill out an online form within the app, after which the system will automatically verify the necessary data using integrated government registries and within a few hours, approve the deferment, reflected in an electronic military document.

According to the Defense Ministry, this automated procedure will drastically cut down processing times, eliminate the necessity of collecting additional documentation, and avoid lengthy visits to registration offices.

During the beta testing phase, parents of children with disabilities under 18 years old, as well as those with adult children with disabilities, can participate.

These participants will have the opportunity to be among the first to test the new functionality and receive official digital confirmation, streamlining the process and reducing waiting times.

The ministry assures that this system represents a step toward modernizing Ukraine’s mobilization procedures, providing more convenience and security for vulnerable citizens during challenging times of modern warfare.
