Ukrainians Identify National Values: Victory in the War as the Top Priority

According to a recent sociological survey conducted by the Rating Sociological Group, the majority of Ukrainians consider victory in the ongoing war as the most important priority in their lives.
This reflects a deep sense of patriotism and a strong desire to restore national sovereignty, intensified by the protracted conflict with Russia.
The survey, carried out between July 20-22, 2025, involved 1,000 adult respondents from all regions of Ukraine, excluding temporarily occupied territories.
Participants were asked to select up to three key values from a provided list.
The results revealed that 62% of respondents ranked Ukraine’s victory in the war as their top concern, underscoring the high motivation and unity among citizens fighting for independence.
Other priorities included family and loved ones (52%), health (34%), sovereignty of Ukraine (26%), preservation of language and culture (18%), self-realization (12%), personal freedom (11%), and material well-being (9%).
Regional differences showed that residents of the west and east are the most eager for victory, while those in central regions prioritize family values more.
Preservation of language and cultural identity is especially significant in western areas, whereas personal freedom is more valued in the south and the center.
Despite a stable sense of well-being among Ukrainians, there is a growing anxiety, indicating a complex psychological climate in the country requiring expert attention.
The study employed telephone interviews based on a random sample, providing a confidence level of 95% and a maximum margin of error of 2.2%.
