Ukraine is set to make a significant stride in expanding its diplomatic presence in Latin America, announcing the upcoming opening of four new diplomatic missions.

According to information disclosed by Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga during the High-Level Dialogue between the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Council of Ministers and observer countries in New York, these embassies will be established in the Dominican Republic, Panama, Uruguay, and Ecuador.

This step is part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to deepen cooperation with the region and establish new platforms for engagement through diplomacy, trade, and security.

Sibiga also discussed the idea of holding the first Ukraine-Caribbean summit, which would mark an important milestone in strengthening Ukrainian-Caribbean relations.

He emphasized Ukraine’s interest in maintaining active contacts at all levels within CARICOM, aiming to make this region one of the priorities of Ukrainian diplomacy.

Besides diplomatic initiatives, the minister pointed out that Ukraine is ready to share its military experience, especially in modern defense technologies and unmanned systems, which have wide applications for both civilian and military purposes.

Ukraine possesses unique maritime and underwater drones capable of performing defense and surveillance functions, demonstrating Kyiv’s commitment to bolster international support and partnerships in countering aggression.

It is worth noting that Ukraine previously opened an embassy in Oman, further advancing its diplomatic efforts and international presence, with diplomatic representatives, local authorities, and the Ukrainian community participating in the ceremony.
