On the eve of the opening of the United Nations General Assembly, U.S.

President Donald Trump is set to engage in high-stakes diplomacy, focusing on the escalating conflict in Gaza.

According to sources, the key event involves negotiations with leading Arab and Muslim heads of state scheduled to take place in New York on Tuesday.

The primary goal of the meeting is to explore ways to cease hostilities and develop a unified stance on post-conflict reconstruction efforts.

Reports from Axios indicate that high-ranking officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey will participate.

The White House aims to galvanize regional partners into supporting a post-war plan for Gaza, potentially involving the deployment of peacekeeping forces to replace Israeli troops.

Arab leaders are expected to urge Trump to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to halt military operations in Gaza and reconsider plans for annexing parts of the West Bank.

The UAE has already warned that Israeli annexation could jeopardize the Abraham Accords, a key diplomatic achievement of Trump’s first term.

Additionally, Trump plans separate meetings with Gulf Cooperation Council countries—Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait—to discuss Palestinian issues, recent Israeli airstrikes targeting Hamas leaders in Qatar, and regional security guarantees.

Regional nations will seek assurances from Washington that such military actions will not recur.

Amid these developments, on September 21, Britain, Canada, and Australia officially recognized Palestinian statehood, with Portugal and nearly ten other countries poised to follow suit in the coming days amid worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza after Israel’s offensive and strikes against Hamas leadership.

Diplomatic efforts to foster international support and stability in the region are now more urgent than ever, making the UN General Assembly meetings pivotal in shaping future regional and global responses.
